Match day report 18 May 19

The Haig Gordon Trophy Final was played at Galabank, Annan where Lowland League side Edusport Academy played hosts with Upper Annandale for the silverware.  The senior side were favourites to win this trophy and in fact did so in a very closely run contest when they won by the odd goal in five.   However it was the Moffat side who took an early lead through Ryan Johnstone but Edusport levelled the match through Matty Flynn to send the teams in at the break all square.  After the restart the home side took the lead again through Matty Flynn before Josh Usher put Uppers back on level terms once more.   The South of Scotland League side more than matched their higher league opponents but although reduced to nine men Edusport found a winner late in the match with Matty Flynn completing his hat-trick to win this seasons Haig Gordon Trophy.  Congratulations to Edusport Academy on their success. Uppers who have enjoyed a very good season are also due congratulations for coming close in their efforts while flying the flag for South football.
